This week has been one of the most difficult in my career thus far. Not because I am busy or overwhelmed, but because I lost a client and friend. When I say "lost," I don't mean in the typical sense that means my client moved or chose a new provider or is taking a break from services. This time, I had a client pass away. This client felt more like a friend, we connected easily and I felt like I had known her forever. Through the relatively short time that I got to know her, we laughed, shared deep thoughts, celebrated each other's wins, and hyped one another up. It feels weird to go back to my room to remember that I won't see her again. Kendall was one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met, and a self-care queen. You will notice a candle in my space specifically for her and her memory. I'm still trying to find any other ways that feel right to honor her memory, but for now the candle feels most right.
I would also like to honor her by saying that I love you all. Things like these remind us that we never know the last time we may see someone. I hope you know that as a client of mine, I care about your results, of course, but also your well-being as a human. I love to hear about your lives and get to be a part of your self-care routine. I love to give you the peace you crave, even if only for an hour or two. I love to help boost your confidence. I love to honor each one of you by helping you feel good. I love to help you feel beautiful, because you are beautiful. There is beauty, divine beauty in all of us. I think sometimes we need reminded of that.
I do all the things I do in the treatment room with love and I hope you all feel that when you are with me.
This blog post is dedicated to Kendall Wood. Rest in peace, sweet friend. 💗
I'm so sad for your loss. May you find peace and comfort in your wonderful memories of her.
